Berlin, 02 June 2020 – Every year, tax returns pose a challenge for many taxpayers in Germany. The founders of the tax app Taxando (www.taxando.de) want to change that with their product: In the application, users can complete their tax return fully digitally in about 15 minutes. By translating the app into four languages and integrating professional tax advisors, the founders have created the first comprehensive solution for tax returns with their product.
Quick and digital tax return
Based on personal experiences with the German tax return, Maciej Szewczyk and Maciej Wawrzyniak founded the Berlin fintech Taxando in 2017. With their product, they aim to fully digitize the process as well as make it as time-saving and straightforward as possible. Taxando automates the tax return process in about 15 minutes. Immediately afterwards, users receive an estimate of their tax amount.
Another special feature of Taxando is the “PREMIUM” service: Since complex tax issues may arise depending on the user, Taxando offers direct integration with a tax advisor.
“If taxpayers search for a tax advisor on their own, it can lead to long waiting times and high costs. With Taxando, this additional effort is eliminated for our customers as we cooperate directly with licensed tax advisors. We are particularly proud of this offering, as we have created a complete all-around service that taxpayers would otherwise have to assemble themselves,” explains Maciej Szewczyk, co-founder and CTO of the company.

The founders also saw a great demand for multilingual solutions. For this reason, Taxando is available in German, English, Polish, and Russian. A Turkish version is planned for this year. All texts in the tax app are translated professionally, not by machine.
Functionality of the Taxando app
With Taxando’s app-based service, users create their tax return fully digitally. A photo of the customer and their ID card is required for identification. Users of the premium versions can have their tax forms digitally submitted to the responsible tax office for a one-time fee of 33.80 euros. Integration with a tax advisor within the “PREMIUM” package is bookable from 99 euros. In the free basic version, the creation is also done online. Afterwards, the user independently prints and sends the documents to the authority. Special entries such as foreign income are also possible in the app.
